New scholarship and study award for Home Team officers
Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs, Mr K Shanmugam, announced new initiatives to attract, recruit and retain promising talent at the Home Affairs Uniformed Scholarship-cum-HOME Award Presentation Ceremony on 23 August 2010. The Singapore Merit Scholarship (Home Uniformed Service) is a new scholarship that has been introduced to attract and recruit strong-spirited youths who have the desire and passion to contribute to the work of the Home Team in keeping Singapore safe and secure. For officers who are already serving in the Home Team, a new Full-Time Degree Sponsorship Programme has also been introduced where the Ministry will sponsor their undergraduate studies so that they can upgrade themselves and take on higher positions within the Ministry.
