CIVIL DEFENCE LIONHEARTERS CLUB

Who We Are

The Civil Defence Lionhearters are SCDF's youth volunteers and Emergency Preparedness (EP) ambassadors.

Civil Defence Lionhearters are trained by SCDF in the 'Triangle of Life' skills, namely Basic First Aid, and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) procedures. These skills enable the young volunteers to be Community First Responders, providing immediate assistance for both on-campus and off-campus emergencies and helping to save life and minimise damage to property before the arrival of the SCDF.

As EP ambassadors, Civil Defence Lionhearters impart EP knowledge and lifesaving skills to members of the public, as seen during EP days in the heartlands and SCDF's public education exhibitions.

In partnership with Mercy Relief, a local Non-Governmental Organisation, Civil Defence Lionhearters also periodically serve in overseas humanitarian relief missions.

Our Beginnings

The first Civil Defence Lionhearter Club was launched in Singapore Polytechnic back in October 20019. The movement then quickly gained traction, with the club being established in all the five Polytechnics and three ITE Colleges in Singapore. And since 2016, the cause has also been expanded to local universities and some Junior Colleges.
