The PSC Scholarship (Engineering)-Internal Security Department (ISD) is offered to students who are keen to pursue an engineering career and are passionate in researching and developing technological innovations to deal with contemporary security challenges.

An engineering career in ISD allows you to build deep technical expertise in four broad domains (i) Cyber Threats, (ii) Technical Intelligence & Research, (iii) Policy & Governance and (iv) Operations Engineering in a broad scope of work ranging from Cyber Intelligence & Security, Applied Research & Development, Software Engineering, Data Intelligence, Project Management, and many more.

Bond Period

  • 4 years for local studies

  • 5 years for studies in non-English speaking countries

  • 6 years for studies in English speaking countries

  • The bond period starts on the day Scholarship recipients assume official duty after completing their studies.

Pre-studies allowance e.g. settling in, warm clothing, computer

Return economy class airfare (if studying overseas)

Eligibility

  • Singapore Citizen

  • Have strong leadership qualities and potential

  • Possess strong interest in leveraging technology to safeguard Singapore’s security and sovereignty

  • Have good academic and Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) records

  • Have a GCE A-Levels, International Baccalaureate, Polytechnic, NUS High School, or other high school diploma/certificate

  • Current Undergraduate students (not in final year of studies) may also apply (as a mid-term scholarship)

Your Leadership Journey

As a PSC Scholarship (Engineering) scholar tied to MHA-Internal Security Department (ISD), you will develop your engineering career in ISD.

PSC Scholarship (Engineering) holders will be given dedicated resources to pursue an engineering career in the Public Service. They will be placed on the Public Service Leadership Programme (PSLP) (General Phase – Engineering), where they will spend 4 years developing foundational technical capabilities in their engineering cluster.

Scholarship holders will be given training opportunities to develop their leadership skills. This includes various milestone programmes, coaching/mentoring, and opportunities to participate in cross-agency project teams.
