Verification of seller identity

Amazon.sg has a stringent seller verification process, under which it collects and verifies all prospective sellers’ business registration (e.g. ACRA/ACRA-equivalent details) and/or personal identification documents (e.g. passport/driver’s licence/NRIC).

Amazon.sg will deny a seller’s attempt to open an account if the registration details are suspicious or associated with a known bad actor.

You can refer to a seller’s profile page to see the seller’s ratings and reviews received.

Use of in-platform secure payment solutions

Amazon.sg provides an in-store secure payment solution for all transactions. You can safeguard your transactions by always transacting and making payments within Amazon.sg. If any seller requests that you transact outside Amazon.sg, please report this to Amazon.sg through their Customer Service.

To further protect customers, Amazon.sg offers consumers the Amazon A-to-Z Guarantee for items sold and fulfilled by a third-party seller on its online store. The guarantee covers both the timely delivery and the condition of the items. If either are unsatisfactory, consumers can report the problem to Amazon.sg and it will determine if consumers are eligible for a refund.

You can do your part by keeping all transactions and communications within Amazon.sg. This ensures all relevant transaction records are available to facilitate subsequent investigation and dispute resolution should the need arise.

Reporting and dispute resolution mechanism

In the event of an account or order-related issue, you may contact Amazon.sg through their Customer Service. If your order is from a third-party seller, you may reach out to the seller by going to Your Orders, finding your order in the list, and clicking the Contact Seller or Problem with Order button.

If the seller has not responded within 2 business days and your request meets the A-to-Z conditions (e.g. you did not receive a refund after the seller agree to do so), you can submit an A-to-Z Guarantee request.
