Dedicated to the service of Home Team officers and our partners in the community, Issue 10 of the Home Team Journal features the continuing work of various Home Team departments in keeping Singapore safe and secure amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Their articles describe the challenges of staying focused on their missions while accelerating transformation efforts to adapt to unprecedented challenges in the operating environment.
The third instalment of “The Leadership Interview” series features DS (Development) Mr Chan Tsan’s riveting story of how the newest member of the Home Team, HTX was formed to boost the Home Team’s science and technological innovations, which had its official opening just a month before the virus broke out in Wuhan.
At the request of the Journal, Chief Psychologist Dr Majeed Khader contributed his reflections on his personal journey as a Home Team psychologist, which started at one of the training schools, the Police Academy where his first task was to teach stress management to officers. Through his leadership and the support of top management, the Home Team psychology community has developed by leaps and bounds since then, providing behavioural sciences and psychological support in the areas of three ‘Os’ – officers, organisation, and operations.
