Civil Defence Auxiliary Unit (CDAU) - Firefighting and Rescue
Respond to fire and rescue incidents alongside SCDF regulars as a CDAU Firefighting and Rescue Officer.

Civil Defence Auxiliary Unit (CDAU) Firefighting and Rescue officers work hand in hand with regular officers in the firefighting vocation.
The men and women of this vocation come from diverse backgrounds and occupations. You don't need previous firefighting experience to apply, as long as you are prepared to go through the part time non residential 16 week training course.
As a volunteer firefighter, you'll gain invaluable civil defence and lifesaving skills. Donning the SCDF uniform and possessing the same status and powers as SCDF regulars, you'll be deployed to the frontline in the fire stations.

Commitment
Minimum of 2 hours per duty, at least 16 hours per month

Volunteers are able to choose your work shifts and days

Duty allowance of $5.20 per hour, regardless of rank
Rank and status
Your rank upon joining is Sergeant 1; Civil Defence NSmen or ex-regulars will assume their last-held rank if higher
You will have the same status and powers as SCDF regulars

Who is eligible
You'll need to meet these criteria:
Singapore Citizen
Aged between 18 and 35 years old
Physically and mentally fit
Pass IPPT/NAPFA
PES A or PES B (for male applicants)
Completed National Service (for male applicants)
Only shortlisted applicants will be notified to come for an interview.
Interested to volunteer?
If you are found suitable, you will need to go through security and medical screening before you are officially appointed as a CDAU Officer.

What you'll do
After training, you'll be posted to a fire station for duty, working alongside regular officers in firefighting and rescue.
You will need to serve a minimum of 2 hours per duty, and clock a total of at least 16 hours of duty per month.
Training
To equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to perform your duties, you will undergo a training course conducted in the evenings and on weekends.
For those new to firefighting and rescue
If you don’t have prior experience, you will need to go through a foundation firefighter course to equip you with the needed skills.
