As a CDAU Public Education Officer, you will help spread the message of emergency preparedness to members of public in classroom based teachings or at community events.
Working with the Division Community Engagement Branch, you will be trained to deliver practical instruction on Civil Defence topics, from first aid and CPR to fire safety and unconventional threats. Gain valuable knowledge and share it with hundreds of others.
Teaching experience is preferred. If you are new to teaching, you will receive extra training on instructional methods.

Who is eligible
You will need to meet the following criteria:
Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
Minimum age of 18 years old
Bilingual, i.e. conversant in English and a mother tongue (Mandarin, Malay or Tamil)
Preferably with Methods of Instruction experience or relevant classroom teaching experience.
To have at least CPR/AED or BCLS certification.
Only shortlisted applicants will be notified to come for interview.

What you'll do
After training, you will be deployed to Division HQs for duty. You will need to serve a minimum of 2 hours per duty within 8.30am to 11pm, and a total of at least 16 hours of duty per month.
You duties will depend on your role.
As a Public Education Instructor, you will:
Support the Division Community Engagement Branch in conducting the Community Emergency Preparedness Programme (CEPP)
Assist in Civil Defence events such as Emergency Preparedness Days, Community Safety & Security Programmes, Community Exhibitions, Public Education Campaigns and Schools Emergency Preparedness Programmes
As a Community Involvement Officer / Assistant Community Involvement Officer, you will help conduct community programmes and liaise with grassroots organisations.
