National Civil Defence Cadet Corps (NCDCC) Cadet Lieutenants and Honorary Officers
Volunteer with the National Civil Defence Cadet Corps (NCDCC) to help train the next generation of young cadets in civil defence and life-saving skills

The National Civil Defence Cadet Corps (NCDCC) Cadet Lieutenants and Honorary Officers schemes allow former NCDCC cadets to assist Teacher Officers to train current NCDCC cadets in secondary schools.
If you were an NCDCC cadet in secondary school or have expertise to contribute, you can give back by sharing your knowledge and providing training, guidance and moral support to the next generation of cadets. You will help develop and empower our youths to be active and equip them with life-saving skills.
The NCDCC Cadet Lieutenant (CLT) scheme is for youths studying in tertiary institutions such as ITE, polytechnics and junior colleges, while the NCDCC Honorary Officers (HO) scheme is for adults who may be working or pursuing further studies.

Commitment
HOs: Minimum of 3 hours a month
CLTs: Minimum of 60 service points per six monthly

Did you know? NCDCC is a National Uniformed Group under the purview of the Ministry of Education and the Singapore Civil Defence Force, Ministry of Home Affairs. Currently, 38 secondary schools offer NCDCC as a co-curricular activity. It is also the youngest uniformed group in Singapore, having celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2020.
Who is eligible
NCDCC Cadet Lieutenant
To be an NCDCC Cadet Lieutenant, you need to be a junior college or polytechnic student who was previously an NCDCC cadet in secondary school.
NCDCC Honorary Officer
To be an NCDCC Honorary Officer, you need to have attained your ‘A’ levels/Diploma or recognised equivalent.

What you'll do
NCDCC Cadet Lieutenant
As a Cadet Lieutenant, you will assist the school Teacher Officers to conduct rescue, first aid, campcraft, foot drill and adventure training for cadets.
You will also assist in guiding the cadets in their involvement in community engagement efforts, such as Service Month projects and SGSecure Roadshows.
NCDCC Honorary Officer
As an Honorary Officer, you are trained in civil defence skills and will assist the Teacher Officers in managing the NCDCC cadets in schools. You also assist the teachers by providing relevant guidance and support for the cadets during their training.
If you have other relevant specialised skills and knowledge, you may be assigned projects for the development of the NCDCC cadets.
Training
NCDCC believes in the lifelong development of our cadets and volunteers. We offer a variety of professional development courses, including the firefighting course, CPR-AED instructor course, high ropes instructor course and many more.
Benefits and Recognition
NCDCC Cadet Lieutenants and Honorary Officers are recognised as Home Team volunteers.
As a Home Team volunteer, you will be trained and supervised, working in partnership with regular officers in the execution of their duties. Our philosophy of involvement includes giving you the necessary orientation, ample opportunities for personal development, as well as awards and recognition for good service.
