National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC) Cadet Inspectors and Honorary Officers
Volunteer as an NPCC Cadet Inspector or Honorary Officer and help support the Corps to develop and nurture our cadets to achieve the necessary core competencies.

The NPCC Cadet Inspectors and Honorary Officers are deployed at the unit level to assist Teacher Officers to train NPCC cadets in schools.
Were you an NPCC cadet in secondary school, or do you have expertise to contribute? You can give back by helping to train, guide and nurture the next generation of cadets to be caring and responsible citizens working to fight crime and keep Singapore safe.
The NPCC Cadet Inspector scheme is for youth leaders studying in junior college or polytechnic, while the NPCC Honorary Officers scheme is for adult leaders.

Did you know? NPCC is a National Uniformed Group under the purview of the Ministry of Education and the Singapore Police Force, Ministry of Home Affairs. It also has a long history, having celebrated its 60th Anniversary in 2019.
Who is eligible
To be a Cadet Inspector, you will need to be a student from a post-secondary education institution and had previously been an NPCC cadet in your secondary school.
To be an Honorary Officer, you would need to join through open units associated with a tertiary education institute e.g. NUS and NTU. Alternatively, adult leaders may be recommended for the scheme by the Officer-in-Charge or Staff Officer of the Unit or HQ respectively.
How to apply
You can apply directly, in consultation with your NPCC unit Officer-in-Charge. If you are a student in either NUS or NTU, you can join the NPCC Units at your university directly.

Our story
NPCC has played a vital role in the Police’s community engagement strategy. NPCC has helped to develop its cadets to be active citizens and community leaders, by working in partnership with SPF, to fight crime and keep Singapore safe. Through this strong partnership with SPF, the Police’s purpose and core values are instilled in our NPCC members and shared with the wider community through the NPCC’s community outreach programmes.
Today, the NPCC continues to play a significant role in a whole-of-community approach in tackling challenges such as terrorism and cyber-threats. The NPCC has included SGSecure training in the enhanced Home Front Security Programme, allowing cadets to better understand Singapore’s security threats, and equipping them with emergency response skills.
With the increasing need for digital defence as a new, sixth pillar of Total Defence, NPCC has also collaborated with the SPF CyberCrime Command to pilot the CyberCrime Prevention Programme in schools.
What you'll do
Cadet Inspector
As a Cadet Inspector, you will be appointed to the Corps to assist Teacher Officers and Honorary Officers in carrying out the training programmes of NPCC.
You will contribute your services to train cadets in the classroom and on the field as well as actively contribute to the smooth running of NPCC events.
Honorary Officer
As an Honorary Officer, you will contribute your expertise, knowledge and experience in various areas to develop cadets in their soft skills. You will also help facilitate learning and assist in the smooth running of the NPCC Units and the Corps.

NPCC Cadet Lieutenants and Honorary Officers are recognised as Home Team volunteers.
As a Home Team volunteer, you will be trained and supervised, working in partnership with regular officers in the execution of their duties. Our philosophy of involvement includes giving you the necessary orientation, ample opportunities for personal development, as well as awards and recognition for good service.

How do I join NPCC as a volunteer?
There are two pathways to volunteer with NPCC: Cadet Inspectors and Honorary Officers.
Cadet Inspectors: Eligible Secondary 4/5 NPCC cadets may be selected each year to undergo the Cadet Inspectors’ Basic Training Course, after which they will be posted to school units as Cadet Inspectors to train cadets.
Honorary Officers: Eligible Cadet Inspectors who wish to extend their service with NPCC may be recommended by their unit’s Officer-in-Charge to undergo the Honorary Officers’ Basic Training Course. After which, they will be posted to school units to mentor younger NPCC members. Alternatively, university students in NUS or NTU may join the NPCC units, after which eligible candidates may undergo the course.
There are no schemes available for members of the public to volunteer with NPCC currently.
