HomeTeamNS CARE Launch @ Fitness Workz Fiesta 2026 - Speech by Mr Goh Pei Ming, Senior Minister of State for Home Affairs & Senior Minister of State for Social and Family Development

1. A very good morning to everyone, Home Team NSmen and family members, ladies and gentlemen.

2. It is a great pleasure to join you here this morning for the Fitness Workz Fiesta 2026 and to be here for the launch of HomeTeamNS CARE.

3. Our Home Team NSmen make a significant commitment to keep Singapore safe and secure. You have given your best and you have made sacrifices. And not only from you, but also from your family members and your loved ones who support you and fill in for you when you are on duty, when you are away serving our country.

4. We do not take your commitment for granted, and HomeTeamNS exists because we value your service, and because we want our NSmen to know that your contributions to Singapore are appreciated and recognised.

5. Just as you have served Singapore well, HomeTeamNS will continue to serve you well. We understand that as you continue your service, you are also progressing through different seasons of life – building careers, raising families, taking care of parents, and juggling it all at the same time. Through the years, we also know that your interests, your lifestyle activities, what you want to do to enjoy yourself, will also evolve over time.

6. For some of you as well, you may be moving into a more mature phase of your lives, you will be planning ahead, what to do for your retirement, and how do you want to continue to enrich yourself to age actively through meaningful activities.

7. I think this is where HomeTeamNS can make a difference. So to better serve you, HomeTeamNS must therefore evolve alongside you and walk together with you, not just as a place for recreation, but also as a trusted community that will support you and your families through every stage of life.

8. To this end, HomeTeamNS must continue and will continue to bring all our members together through a vibrant and diverse set of programmes and activities throughout the year. From family-friendly school holiday programmes to fitness initiatives like what we have just done, adventure challenges, active aging programmes. There should be, and there will always be, something for every member of the family. The strong response from our members is reflected in a 41% increase in participation across all our programmes over the past year. And I know our executive team, all the staff members of HomeTeamNS, have worked very hard to achieve this outcome.

9. Our recent brand refresh reaffirms our commitment in this direction in a more meaningful way. At the heart of all our efforts is a new HomeTeamNS CARE initiative, anchoring on four key tenets: Connecting, Aspiring, Rewarding and Enriching (CARE). More importantly, CARE is about turning appreciation into meaningful actions.

10. Today, I am pleased to announce the launch of HomeTeamNS CARE and the first suite of benefits under this initiative.

11. From 5 October 2026, all new and existing Ordinary and Associate Members can opt in for complimentary one-year Group Personal Accident Insurance coverage, underwritten by Singlife and arranged by Professional Investment Advisor Services or PIAS.

12. Members who opt in will also receive a complimentary one-year HomeTeamNS membership, as well as benefits such as home-based vaccinations for your newborns and senior parents.

13. Members can also benefit from complimentary monthly financial wellness talks co-organised by HomeTeamNS and PIAS. These talks will cover topics such as retirement planning, financial resilience and estate planning, alongside free beginner-friendly fitness classes organised by Fitness Workz.

14. Now together, these initiatives reflect our commitment to help members and their families stay protected, plan ahead and live well.

15. I am heartened that more than 350 members have already participated in the various financial wellness talks conducted over the past two months, and I am glad that many of them have found them useful and want to continue.

16. HomeTeamNS CARE is also about supporting families across generations, and that is why Infinity Members can enjoy complimentary two-year family membership, and membership eligibility has also been extended to grandchildren.

17. These enhancements make it easier for the whole family to enjoy HomeTeamNS together and to create meaningful, memorable experiences across generations.

18. This is important because National Service is not just a journey undertaken by NSmen alone. Behind many of our NSmen are their family members and loved ones who support them through every single stage – whenever they are on duty, when they report for training and when they serve our country. As we recognise our NSmen, we also want to take the opportunity to appreciate and thank all the families who stand behind them.

19. I am encouraged that these initiatives that we are introducing are actually already making an impact. We have over 39,000 family members who are part of our HomeTeamNS community, and as I mentioned earlier, we are not reaching out to the grandchildren, and we are glad that another 130 grandchildren have already joined us since March this year.  

20. As HomeTeamNS continues to evolve alongside its members, I am confident that it will remain a trusted companion and a vibrant community for all of us, for generations of NSmen and their families.

21. On that note, I would like to thank all our members, partners and volunteers for your continued support, and together, let us continue building a HomeTeamNS that connects, that aspires, that rewards and enriches all of us, all our NSmen for generations to come.
