Situations Where Permanent Residency or Work Passes are Revoked when a Criminal Offence is Committed in Singapore

Mr Dennis Tan Lip Fong: To ask the Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs in what circumstances will (i) permanent residents and (ii) work pass holders have their permanent residency or work pass revoked when they commit a criminal offence in Singapore.

1. Foreigners, including Singapore permanent residents and work pass holders, who break our laws or engage in undesirable conduct may have their passes or permits cancelled and be prohibited from re-entry into Singapore. There is a framework to assess such cases, based on the facts, the nature and severity of the incident, the person’s family roots here, and the contributions of the person to Singapore.
