Strengthening enforcement measures and public education on lane discipline requirements for all large vehicles

Mr Dennis Tan Lip Fong: To ask the Senior Minister, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs building on the Traffic Police’s enforcement and public education efforts on lane discipline, whether enforcement will be intensified against all large vehicles, including off-service public buses that fail to travel in the extreme left lane, except where necessary to overtake, turn or avoid bus lanes during operating hours.

1. As stated in our reply to the Member’s Question No. 30 on 4 February 2026, the Traffic Police will continue to enforce the requirement for all large vehicles, including off-service public buses, to keep to the extreme left lane except when overtaking, turning or avoiding an operational bus lane.
