Question:
Ms Joan Pereira: To ask the Senior Minister, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs whether the Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRA) will consider strengthening measures, such as auditing, spot-checking and real-time data sharing, to ensure that self-exclusion applications are more tightly executed across all gambling venues and platforms to protect vulnerable individuals.
Answer:
Mr K Shanmugam, Senior Minister, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs:
1. The Ministry of Social and Family Development, which oversees the exclusion order regime, already shares exclusion data in real time with gambling operators for immediate compliance. The Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRA) ensures compliance by operators through a robust inspection regime, which includes audits and spot-checks. GRA will make adjustments to its inspection regime where necessary to ensure its effectiveness.
