Visit by Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law Mr K Shanmugam to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

1. Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law Mr K Shanmugam is on a working visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan from 28 to 29 April 2018.

2. During his visit, Minister Shanmugam called on His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein. Minister Shanmugam and His Majesty King Abdullah exchanged views on the terrorism threat and its impact on global peace and security.

3. Minister Shanmugam also met Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Taro Kono. Minister Shanmugam and Minister Kono reaffirmed the close and longstanding relations between Singapore and Japan. They discussed efforts to counter radicalisation and violent extremism in Southeast Asia.
