Question:
Assoc Prof Jamus Jerome Lim: To ask the Minister for Home Affairs for the past five years, what is the average and median household income of applicants who are granted (i) permanent residency and (ii) citizenship.
Answer:
Mr K Shanmugam, Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law:
1. The Ministry of Home Affairs does not have the household income of applicants granted permanent residency or citizenship. The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority only collects the income information of the applicant and/or sponsor at the point of application. A household could comprise other individuals who are neither an applicant nor a sponsor.
