Question:
Mr Gan Thiam Poh: To ask the Minister for Home Affairs (a) how regular are enforcements against drink drinking undertaken each year; and (b) how many drivers have been caught for non-compliance since the last review of the relevant laws and penalties.

Mr K Shanmugam, Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law:
1. The Police conducts roadblocks daily, in different locations. This is to deter and detect crimes, including drink driving offences.
2. The Government last reviewed and enhanced the penalties for drink driving offences in July 2019. The enhancements were brought into force in November 2019.
