Question:
Ms See Jinli Jean: To ask the Minister for Home Affairs where the terrain and other traffic constraints permit, whether the Ministry will consider installing enforcement cameras at zebra crossings to reinforce in motorists the habit to slow down for pedestrian safety at the zebra crossings.
Answer:
Mr K Shanmugam, Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law:
1. The Traffic Police (TP) installs enforcement cameras at speeding-prone and accident-prone locations, where the terrain is assessed to be suitable. This is regardless of whether there is a zebra crossing.
