Written Reply to Parliamentary Question on Investigation Status into MUIS’ Police Report on an Individual Allegedly Promulgating Deviant Teachings

Question:
Mr Muhamad Faisal Bin Abdul Manap: To ask the Minister for Home Affairs whether he can provide an update on the status of the investigation into an individual allegedly promulgating deviant teachings which MUIS had previously filed a Police report on.
Answer:
Mr K Shanmugam, Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law:
1. On 9 November 2020, the Straits Times reported the case of an individual who allegedly promulgated deviant teachings. Following internal investigations, MUIS lodged a police report. As Police investigations are ongoing, it is inappropriate to comment on the case at this point in time.
