Question:
Mr Liang Eng Hwa: To ask the Minister for Home Affairs in the last three years (a) how many complaints has the Ministry received for alleged offences under the Protection from Harassment Act; (b) how many protection orders have been granted; and (c) arising from these protection orders, how many are prosecuted and charged.

Mr K Shanmugam, Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law:
1. Between 2021 and 2023, there were a total of 69,795 Police reports of alleged offences under Sections 3 to Sections 7 of the Protection from Harassment Act 2014. 498 Protection Orders were issued by the Courts. 10 persons were prosecuted for contravening the conditions of their Protection Orders.
