Written Reply to Parliamentary Question on Number of Fire Incidents Caused by Over-Charging of Personal Mobility Devices’ Batteries in the Past 12 Months

Mr Lim Biow Chuan: To ask the Minister for Home Affairs over the last 12 months, how many fire incidents have been caused by the over-charging of personal mobility devices’ batteries.

1. Between April 2023 and March 2024, there were 18 fires that involved personal mobility devices (PMDs). SCDF does not track, however, how many of such fires involve over-charging of PMD batteries.
