Question:
Mr Lim Biow Chuan: To ask the Minister for Home Affairs how many motorists have been jailed for careless driving since the Road Traffic Act was amended in 2019 .
Answer:
Mr K Shanmugam, Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law:
1. The amendments to the Road Traffic Act came into force on 1 November 2019. As at August 2022, 470 motorists have received a jail sentence for committing the offence of careless driving.
