Question:
Mr Gan Thiam Poh: To ask the Minister for Home Affairs whether the Police will consider restricting the number of people gathering in groups and causing congregational noise at HDB common greens during the quiet hours after 10.30 pm and before 7 am.
Answer:
Mr K Shanmugam, Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law:
1. The law sets out the circumstances when public gatherings require permit. In addition, Police also take action when there are law and order issues. Where there are no law and order issues, or where the gatherings do not require permit, the Police will generally not intervene or restrict such gatherings.
