1. Mr K. Shanmugam, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs, presented the Pingat Jasa Gemilang (the Meritorious Service Medal) to Dato’ Sri Haji Mohd Khalid bin Haji Ismail at an Investiture Ceremony held at Singapore’s Ministry of Home Affairs on 18 August 2025.
2. Dato’ Sri Haji Mohd Khalid was appointed Director, Malaysian Special Branch (MSB) in the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) on 10 April 2023, helming the MSB for more than two years before assuming the position of Inspector-General of Police, RMP on 23 June 2025.
3. Dato’ Sri Haji Mohd Khalid played an active and integral role in enhancing the strong relationship between the MSB and the Internal Security Department (ISD) of Singapore. Under his leadership, MSB and ISD maintained substantive bilateral engagements, intelligence exchanges and extensive cooperation in areas of mutual security interest, particularly in the domain of counter terrorism. Close collaboration between the two Services helped in disrupting the activities of pro-Islamic State in Iraq and Syria elements and other terror-linked entities in the region.
4. The conferment of the Pingat Jasa Gemilang (the Meritorious Service Medal) is a recognition of Dato’ Sri Haji Mohd Khalid’s instrumental role in enhancing the strong professional ties and cooperation between the MSB and ISD during his tenure as Director, MSB and his significant contributions to the security of Malaysia, Singapore and the region.
5. The Investiture Ceremony was attended by guests from the Malaysian High Commission in Singapore and officers from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
