Number of Road Accidents Involving Drivers Who Are Foreign Work-Pass Holders for Each Year Since 2021

Miss Rachel Ong: To ask the Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs for each year from 2021 to date (b) how many road accidents have involved drivers who are foreign work-pass holders; (b) what percentage of all road accidents do these represent; and (c) how many of these accidents involving foreign drivers were fatal.


Answer:

Mr K Shanmugam, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs: 

1.  From 2021 to 2024, on average, there were 1489 road accidents annually involving motorists who are foreign work-pass holders, of which 15 on average were fatal. This constituted 22% of all road accidents and 13% of all fatal accidents during that period.
