MHA Career Transition Programmes
The MHA 5-year Career Transition Roadmap for Uniformed Services aims to facilitate officers' transition to another career after retirement from the uniformed services.
How We Support You
Learn about the various schemes and programmes available for retiring officers.
Time off and subsidies for career transition activities
Under the Enabler Scheme, you can get paid days-off and subsidies to engage in a variety of career transition activities, such as external courses to learn new skills.
Work attachments or full-time studies
The Pre-Retirement Employment Programme allows you to work for a private sector or public sector employer, or begin your full-time course in a local or overseas tertiary institution, for up to 90 days prior to your retirement.
Employment and personal development courses
We organise in-house courses for you to improve your employment prospects and prepare you for a second career after retirement from the uniformed services. The courses include resume writing, job interview techniques, networking skills
and financial planning workshops.
Networking sessions and career summit
We provide you with opportunities to learn more about potential employers in different industries and network with them. This also includes sessions dedicated to entrepreneurship if you want to start your own business.
Personal career guidance
We partner Workforce Singapore as well as some private providers to offer you 1-on-1 career guidance and advice. Job-matching services are available, too.
