Home Team Diploma Sponsorship
The MHA Home Team Diploma Sponsorship is awarded to outstanding polytechnic students who demonstrate leadership qualities and are passionate in strengthening Singapore's security and public safety.
The sponsorship provides you with financial incentives during your studies and thereafter a fulfilling and rewarding career with the Home Team.

Value of Award
There are 2 levels of sponsorship, Merit and Study.

Tuition fees and other approved charges
|$1,300, or a total of $15,600 per year||$1,000, or a total of $12,000 per year|

How much will you receive?
How much you will receive depends on when you sign up for the sponsorship. You will receive:
- Reimbursement of up to 100% of tuition fees
- Backdated payments of the monthly allowance
The back-payment rates for your tuition fees and allowances are as follows:
If you sign up in Year 1
If you sign up in Year 2
If you sign up in Year 3
You will need to:
- Be an existing student studying full-time at Nanyang, Ngee Ann, Republic, Singapore or Temasek Polytechnic
- Be a Singapore Citizen
- Have Good ‘O’ Level/NITEC/Higher NITEC/Diploma results
- Be medically and physically fit, with at least a ‘pass’ in NAPFA
- Be interested in meaningful non-deskbound work and enjoy working with people
All Home Team sponsorships are open to male and female applicants.
For Males Serving National Service
If you have not served National Service (NS), your NS obligations depend on which Home Team department you choose to join.

You will complete your NS first, and then start the 4-year bond with the selected Home Team department
What is the Minimum Term of Engagement Scheme (MTE)?
Under the MTE scheme, you will serve as a regular officer and receive regular pay. At the end of the 5-year MTE period, you would have fulfilled your NS obligations and the Home Team Diploma Sponsorship bond.
