Oral Reply to Parliamentary Question on Pre-Marriage Long-Term Visit Pass Assessment (PMLA) by Mr Amrin Amin, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs

MP Gan Thiam Poh: To ask the Minister for Home Affairs how many prospective Singaporean-foreigner couples have participated in the Pre-marriage Long-Term Visit Pass Assessment (PMLA) since it was introduced.

 

Answer:

 

1. The Pre-Marriage Long-Term Visit Pass Assessment was implemented on 1st January 2015.

 

2. In the one year from January to December 2015, a total of 4,159 applications were received.

 

3. ICA has since completed processing 3,764 cases.

 

4. Of these, 2,481, or about 66%, were issued with a Letter of Long-Term Visit Pass Eligibility.
