Ms Anthea Ong: To ask the Minister for Home Affairs in each year since 2016, how many children granted Singapore citizenship have been born to (i) mothers with permanent resident (PR) status and (ii) foreign mothers without PR status respectively.

 

Answer:


1. From 2016 to 2019, an average of around 4,280 citizen children were born in Singapore each year to mothers who were Permanent Residents (PRs). For the same period, an average of around 2,210 citizen children were born to foreign mothers who were not PRs.
