Published: 02 August 2021

Question:

Mr Dennis Tan Lip Fong: To ask the Minister for Home Affairs (a) whether the Familial Ties Lane is still available for foreign visitors who are entering to register their marriage in Singapore to a Singaporean citizen or permanent resident; and (b) if so, what are the requirements.

Answer:

1.   Foreign visitors who are fiancés/fiancées of Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents can apply to enter Singapore under the Familial Ties Lane (FTL) for the purpose of marriage.

2.   Applicants will need to provide supporting documents, such as appointment letters from the Registry of Marriages or Registry of Muslim Marriages, where required. Their applications will also be subject to security and immigration risk assessment.

3.   If the entry application is approved, they will be subject to the prevailing COVID-19 measures for inbound travellers, such as the Stay-Home Notice (SHN) and swab test requirements.
