Investiture of Pingat Jasa Gemilang (Meritorious Service Medal) on Director, Malaysian Special Branch Royal Malaysia Police (July 2015 to September 2017)

1.     The President has conferred the Pingat Jasa Gemilang (Meritorious Service Medal) on Tan Sri Dato' Seri Mohamad Fuzi bin Harun.  Tan Sri Dato' Seri Fuzi was appointed Director, Malaysian Special Branch (MSB) in the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) on 28 Jul 2015, and recently assumed the position of Inspector-General of Police, RMP on 4 Sep 2017.  Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law Mr K Shanmugam presented the award to Tan Sri Dato' Seri Fuzi at the Ministry of Home Affairs today. 

 

2.     Under Tan Sri Dato' Seri Fuzi's leadership, the strong relationship between the MSB and the Internal Security Department (ISD) of Singapore grew even closer. There were substantive intelligence exchanges and extensive cooperation in areas of mutual security interest, particularly against the terrorism threat. Tan Sri Dato' Seri Fuzi led by example, and demonstrated astute leadership and resolve in countering the persistent terrorism threat.

 

3.     The award is a recognition of Tan Sri Dato' Seri Fuzi's outstanding role and commitment in enhancing the strong professional ties between MSB and ISD, and his significant contributions to the security of Malaysia, Singapore and the region. 

 

4.     The investiture ceremony today was attended by guests from the Malaysian High Commission in Singapore, RMP and officers from the Home Team.
