Official Visit by Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Interior, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz Bin Saud Bin Naif Al Saud ​​

         The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's (KSA) Minister of Interior, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif Al Saud, is visiting Singapore for an official visit from 15 to 17 March 2018, at the invitation of Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam.  

 

2.     His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz called on President Halimah Yacob at the Istana earlier today.  During the call, the President and His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz reaffirmed the friendly and longstanding ties between Singapore and KSA.  His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz updated the President on KSA's Vision 2030 and its reform initiatives. The President in turn shared Singapore's developmental experience and also thanked His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz and the Saudi government for looking after the welfare and safety of Singapore Muslims during their haj and umrah visits to the Kingdom.  His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz also called on Acting Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean, and both sides reaffirmed the good security cooperation between the two countries and exchanged views on domestic and regional developments.

 

3.     Yesterday, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz was hosted to dinner by Minister Shanmugam, during which both Ministers reaffirmed the warm and close relations between Singapore and KSA. They had a good exchange of views on bilateral security cooperation as well as the global terrorism threat. They agreed that countries needed to work closely together to defeat terrorism, and directed their security agencies to do so. 

 

4.     During his visit, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz will also meet with Minister for Communications and Information and Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs Dr Yaacob Ibrahim.
