Ladies and gentlemen.
1. A very good afternoon to all of you.
2. It is my pleasure to be with you today on this wonderful occasion.
3. Haslinda shared that she has been doing this for twenty years. I think to us, it has not only been beautiful, but meaningful and very deep engagement of the people. Young people whom we have seen them grow have also spoke a lot about her and all the people of HGEF. Going back to her late father, we are blessed to have her working tirelessly to continue the good work and his legacy. You can imagine, without any full-time staff, HGEF has tirelessly raised funds to provide bursaries for children and organised various meaningful initiatives for them.
4. HGEF has also played a pivotal role in galvanising the community – bringing together generous donors, passionate volunteers, and many other stakeholders to support vulnerable children and youths impacted by drug abuse.
5. I would like to thank Haslinda and the HGEF family for your dedication and commitment over the years. You have touched countless young lives and moulded them into leaders of tomorrow. Your efforts have helped to build a stronger and more caring community.
6. I am also heartened to note that HGEF has raised the bursary quantum . It is something that we are appreciative. If you look back at what she has been doing, she has raised funds, sometimes knocking on doors. Somehow, she has been so effective. With the quantum that has been given, this is something that not only provide opportunities for them but, also provide a motivation to them.
7. To the children and youths, and to all families, well done on your achievements. You have displayed resilience and determination in overcoming obstacles and challenges. These are good values that will serve you well in life.
8. Continue to build on the progress and remember to celebrate successes, no matter how small. These are stepping stones to achieve your aspirations. And when the going gets tough, reach out to HGEF and others around you for help.
9. On a final note, I hope that each of us can continue to play our part in protecting our children, creating a nurturing and caring environment for them, and giving them hope for their future.
