1. We need our Home Team officers to maximise their fullest potential when they do their work, when they go about their daily operations. Human factors, such as physical and psychological factors, or how our officers are influenced by their operating environment, how they work together with their teams, can play a vital role in supporting their overall performance and effectiveness; and, this is especially so in today’s demanding operating environment.
2. And, therefore, I’m heartened, and very glad to see HTX take the initiative to develop this first-of-its kind facility to ramp up its efforts, to study this field of human factors and to also, develop solutions that are tailored to support our Home Team officers’ unique operating needs.
3. I am confident that the systems and the equipment that are developed from this XPLORE facility will help our officers do their jobs more effectively and more safely. And, this is important because people will always be at the core of our Home Team even as, and especially as, more and more technological solutions are being rolled out.
