Mr T. Raja Kumar, Deputy Secretary (International), Ministry of Home Affairs Receives Prestigious State Award from the French Republic

1.     Mr T. Raja Kumar, Deputy Secretary (International), Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) was conferred the French National Order of Merit (Knight) Award.

 

2.     The investiture ceremony was held at the residence of the French Ambassador, His Excellency Marc Abensour on Wednesday, 4 October 2017.

 

3.     The conferment of the award recognises the contributions of Mr Raja Kumar in building and sustaining close security cooperation and bilateral relations between Singapore and France. In particular, MHA enjoys warm working relations with the French Ministry of Interior (MOI) and the French security agencies. In April 2016, MHA signed a three-year Strategic Cooperation Plan (SCP) with the French MOI. The areas of cooperation cover border management, civil protection, counter terrorism, cybercrime, major events management, and thought leadership on Homeland Security.  

 

4.     Mr Raja Kumar said, "I am honoured and humbled to receive this award. I would also like to share this honour with all the men and women of MHA. This award is testament to the long-standing friendship and cooperation between the French MOI and MHA, and our respective security agencies, in our common fight against terrorism and transnational crime".
