New Chairman for Casino Regulatory Authority

1. Mr Lee Tzu Yang will be appointed Chairman of the Casino Regulatory Authority (CRA) with effect from 2 April 2015. He currently serves on the board as Deputy Chairman. 

 

2. Mr Lee succeeds Mr Richard Magnus, who will retire as Chairman of the CRA after seven years in office. Mr Magnus played a pivotal role in the development and implementation of Singapore's casino regulatory legislation and framework. Under his leadership, Singapore's casino regulatory regime gained international recognition as a robust and effective model that has been referenced by many other jurisdictions. The Ministry would like to thank Mr Magnus for his valuable and significant contributions. 

 

3. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Mr Teo Chee Hean said: 

 

"I would like to thank Mr Richard Magnus for his steady leadership of CRA during its formative years. He has laid the foundations for a casino regulatory framework that is firm and fair. Beyond Singapore, he has helped CRA build a network of partners and establish itself as a well-respected regulator amongst its international peers"
